Nestled amidst lush tropical foliage, Treetops Executive Residences offers a tropical resort home in the city with its well-appointed serviced apartments.
Launched in 2009, its “Discover Green” project that aims at including ‘green’ features in the premises to inculcate healthy living practices. As part of its efforts to reduce energy consumption, Treetops worked with Comfort Management to improve its efficiency in various aspects.
Key measures implemented are as follow:
- In Phase 1, Air Conditioning system was optimised to harness 27% energy savings
- Phase 2 measures resulted to 35% energy savings and involves installation of tri-generation plant to save energy and improve chiller plant operation. This project involves 3 sets of 200KW diesel generator to operate in synchronisation which supplies power to the building. Waste heat from exhaust and jacket water will be used to run the absorption chiller which produces the chilled water to building, at the same time domestic hot water
- To reduce the pre-cooled air demand, individual kitchen ventilation hoods are linked to operate based on usage and main kitchen exhaust fan to operate according to the pressure
- Installed a vertical wind turbine, a first in Singapore, to harvest the energy from the exhaust air flow from the air-conditioning plant cooling towers, generating additional electricity for the estate
- Utilised a Building Automation System (BAS) to operate and monitor its Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation System and systems performance
