Ibis Singapore Novena is a 10-storey international 3-star hotel situated in the heritage-rich Balestier and Novena area. In pursuit of reducing energy consumption, ibis initiated an energy conservation programme that would reduced the total building energy consumption by 33% or an annual reduction of more than 800,000 kWh.
Comfort Management helped ibis to successfully implement the following innovations:
- Convert the existing air cooled variable refrigerant volume (VRV) system to a centralised water cooled efficient refrigerant volume system
- Hot water recovery system from the centralised refrigeration system to isolate electric calorifiers
- VSD for condenser water pumps and cooling tower for better part load performance
- CO2 sensors and pressure sensors to enable fresh air demand ventilation
In addition, extensive lighting replacement exercise was carried out and various green features were implemented such as use of certified environmentally-friendly products and selecting low VOC paints.
